I am an independent dance maker, performer, facilitator and producer living in Blaydon, UK.

My work is shapeshifting. It is rooted in dance, although reimagines what dance is and who it is for - from my work as a maker through to my facilitation work.

As a dance maker, my work spans performance for theatre, outdoors, and film, often sitting alongside a practice of embodied writing. For me, this means using the embodied experience as a place to write from - to generate scores for improvisation / document the process of making / create standalone text based work.

I have a strong desire to be involved in work that prioritises care and a sense of joy for all those who make and encounter it.

I have worked as a facilitator for over 10 years, with experience and enthusiasm in working with both trained and non-trained dancers, of a variety of ages, ethnicities and backgrounds - and have made work with non-trained dancers in my own work with Annie Dearnley in To Suit, my Dad in Dancing with My Dad and Luca Rutherford in a really small dance.

Most recently, I have co-created work with groups of intergenerational performers in The Answers and Abundance.

As a performer, I have performed in my own work including Fawn, Dancing with my Dad and a really small dance, for Rosie Kay Dance Company and various independent artists across the UK - and have performed in balletLORENT’s Rapunzel with my son Max in 2022 and my son Frank in 2023.

I often provide support for artists in movement direction and dramaturgy, having worked with Payal Ramchandani, Jonluke McKie, Rosa Postlethwaite, Luca Rutherford and CBBC’s The Dumping Ground.

I also work as a producer - self producing my own work, working part time for Festival of Thrift as the Creative Projects Producer, and providing ad hoc support for projects and companies including South Tyneside Cultural Education Partnership, Hadrian’s Wall 1900, Jack Drum Arts and The Auckland Project.

My work has been presented and screened across the UK, and internationally in Malta, Italy, Canada and USA, and I have been supported by Dance City, The Place, Yorkshire Dance, Cambridge Junction, Northern School of Contemporary Dance, Random Acts, Tyneside Cinema, Gateshead Council and Northumberland County Council.
